Loop Keyframes.

Loop selected properties with a loop expression.

What it does

Add a loopIn() / loopOut() expression to each selected property with keyframes so its keys repeat automatically. Pick the direction (before the first key or after the last) and the loop mode - Cycle, PingPong, Offset or Continue. Continue does not support Color properties; deselect Color or choose another mode. On time-reversed layers the in/out sense is swapped so the loop still reads right.

Controls

  • Click: Apply a loop expression

Guide

Use it

Select animated properties in After Effects, then open Loop Keyframes through Command Search. Choose Loop In to extend before the first key or Loop Out to extend after the last key. Click a mode to apply immediately:

  • Cycle repeats the keyed interval.
  • PingPong alternates forward and backward playback.
  • Offset repeats while accumulating the interval’s value difference.
  • Continue extends the endpoint velocity. Eased endpoints with zero velocity remain still.

The Tool replaces existing expressions and enables the new expression. Select property rows, rather than only layers or property groups. Selected keys do not limit the loop interval: AE uses the property’s keyed animation. Unselected properties remain untouched, and key times and values are preserved. Native Undo restores the previous expression and its enabled state.

Selection and limitations

Properties need at least one keyframe. A single key holds its value in all four modes. Selecting a property without keys rejects the whole action before any expression is replaced. Continue does not support Color properties; deselect Color or use another mode. A selection containing Color rejects Continue atomically. Cycle, PingPong and Offset work with Color.

On time-reversed layers, Loop In and Loop Out swap expression functions so the chosen extension still occurs on the intended side in composition time. AE’s property bounds still apply, so an Opacity loop can clamp at0 or100. No active composition, empty selections and group-only selections show guidance.

Successful Apply saves the direction for the next session. A failed Apply keeps the last successful saved direction. The mode itself is chosen with each click. There are no modifier actions.
