Find and Replace Keyframe Values.

Find and replace keyframe values by comparison.

What it does

Rewrite keyframe VALUES in place: find every key whose value equals, exceeds or is under a number and set it to another. Multi-dimensional properties are matched component by component; timing, eases and tangents are untouched. Scope the scan to the selected keys, the selected layers, or the whole active comp.

Guide

Use it

Open Find and Replace Keyframe Values through Command Search. Enter a number in Find, choose =, > or <, enter its replacement in Set, choose a scope and click Replace. Decimal values are supported. Each component of a multidimensional key is compared separately; matching components are replaced while other components stay intact.

  • Selected Keys scans selected keys on selected property rows. Selecting only a layer or property group is insufficient.
  • Selected Layers scans every animated property on selected layers. With no layers selected, it scans the whole active composition.
  • Active Comp scans all animated properties in the composition, including locked and time-reversed layers.

Key times, interpolation, easing and spatial tangents are retained. Separated Position followers are scanned independently; their leader is skipped. Native Undo reverses the batch in one step. Repeating the same replacement is stable, although accepted writes can still be counted when a value already equals Set.

Results and limits

Equality is exact, with no tolerance. AE may store decimal Color values with small floating-point differences, so a displayed 0.6 can be stored as 0.60000002384186. Use a comparison appropriate to the stored values.

AE enforces each property’s range. An out-of-range Opacity write is skipped; other valid writes in the same batch remain applied and the result reports both counts. If every write fails, Apply reports failure. Native unused dimensions can ignore a component write, such as Z on a 2D Scale or 2D Position property. Counts describe accepted key writes, rather than changed components. Color can accept values above 1.

Empty key selections, no matches, no animated properties in scope and no active composition show guidance. Successful settings persist across reload. A failed Apply retains the last successful settings; partial success saves the applied settings. There are no modifier actions.
