Altar Forge quickstart.

Open the Forge panel and shape your comp by hand with the v1 tools.

Open the Forge

Forge is the hands-on station — make it yourself, no AI required. After installing Altar, open Window → Extensions → Altar and select the Forge tab. Open a comp and Forge is ready; every tool runs through the Bridge, so it always acts on the comp you are looking at.

Forge is the manual station
Make it by hand

Forge is a launcher of small, focused tools. Pick one, point it at your layers, and it does the tedious part — you keep the composition and the taste.

The v1 tools

Altar Forge ships with five tools in the first build:

  • Easing — shape the timing of selected keyframes with reusable easing curves, so motion settles the way you want without hand-dragging handles.
  • Color Swatches — build and apply a palette to your layers, keeping colour consistent across a comp.
  • Anchor Align — move a layer’s anchor point to any of the nine positions (corners, edges, centre) without shifting the layer on screen.
  • Comp Resizer — change the composition’s dimensions and keep your content sensibly placed instead of stranded off-frame.
  • Primitives — drop in clean shape-layer primitives to build rigs and backgrounds from scratch.

Run a tool

Select the layers you want to affect, open a tool from the Forge grid, set its options, and apply. Read-only tools report your comp back to you; write tools apply a validated operation and tell you what landed.

  • Select the layers in your comp first
  • Open the tool and choose its settings
  • Apply — the change lands on the real properties
